ABOUT IFN Independent Film Network is a New York City-based business, bringing together different elements of the independent filmmaking communities to one network. Our goal: provide an opportunity for artists, professionals and businesses to promote themselves in an organized manner to a focused audience of like minded or interested people.IFN was founded by two brothers, who have over 45 years combined experience in the worlds of film festivals, filmmaking, acting, producing, directing, freelancing, photography, and digital cameras and media. Both are experienced entrepreneurs who have started and grown other successful businesses. After several years of starting and working in film festivals, we saw how many terrific films never see the light of day. A filmmaker may have a showing here or there at a couple of festivals, hustling up the time, energy and money to get the film out there a couple times, only to end up with their wallet, time and energy drained, not much further along in their career than when they started. The festivals themselves are invigorating, but overall, the process takes its toll. The films end up gathering dust in the closet and you're left frustrated, with bills to pay and no further way to continue the journey and keep your film out there with possibilities. We came up with IFN to try and help fill a gap in the distribution process. We're not saying this is going to get you that multi-million dollar picture deal, or your movie will be picked up by Miramax. What we are offering is one more resource, one more avenue of promotion and exposure to help keep your film in the public eye. We want to help keep your energy alive, get people out and about, talking film, seeing films, learning more about what is available to them. A resource, so you don't have to totally slog it out all alone. Additionally, businesses are looking for you. They have enormous resources, expertise and they want to be involved. They of course want you to be customers, but they also love the process and industry. Maybe they are coming at it from a slightly different direction than a filmmaker, but don't believe for a second that they are not passionate about what they are doing. They love it as well. They have a lot to offer and many have expressed interest in putting on seminars, workshops and making the newest equipment available to you. These companies offer services that have real world value. As we build our base, we will keep you informed of events, screenings, seminars and workshops as they take place around the city. The measures of success will be the real world accomplishments that are tangible, that keep you moving forward. A screening of your film . . . visitors viewing your film on site and emailing you, or better yet, wanting to purchase a copy of your film. Discounts on film equipment from IFN businesses. These will be the measures of success. Tap into the energy and passion of thousands of others promoting their projects on IFN. Participate. Expose yourself.
